Good Experience

Last 3 weeks, I was happy to open a new bank account, planning for my monthly saving from my salary since this is my first job. Save for the future is the right choice for every employee. I couldn’t be like the teenager, spend whatever I have on my hand right now.

Money tends to be losing easily if it’s with me. In order to control my spending habit, I need ATM card to help me reducing the outflow of cash in my accounting record. How this could be done?

If the money is kept in the bank and whenever I wanna withdraw money, I need to drive to the nearest atm and get the cash before purchasing something. If the money is with me, I can buy things anytime I feel like to. So you can see which one is the fastest way to spend off the money. I tend to feel tired and annoying if I have to withdraw money from atm machine few times a week. Because of this reason, I probably won’t take the money quite often and also does not spend much too unless there is a need urgently.

The best way is to keep the money in the bank instead of storing on my drawer. And I have a mini hello kitty notebook in my bag. Whenever I spend something, I will take note the item and price and date. End of the month, I will input my spending data into Ms Excel spreadsheet and generate the bar chart for the month. I can monitor my money easily and estimate the saving as well. Spend wisely and have a better life in future!

The staff introduced me the types of account they have. So I choose the one who is suitable for my financial background. Every transaction is dealing with machine, no passbook needed. Deposit and withdrawal are processed by pressing button of the machine. Bank statement will send to me every 3 months. If I think I have too much to spend, I can queue up in the counter and pay $2 for the transaction. The possibility is very low because I rather keep my $2 nicely in the bank.

Documents had been filled up and everything seemed to be going smoothly. Suddenly the staff found out that my name was wrongly entered into the system and she will do the correction as well. I was asked to wait for another 3 working days to collect my ATM card. It was on Saturday that I applied because I work from Monday to Friday. So I can do my personal stuff on every Saturday. On the following week Thursday, I probably can get it.

So on that day, I received a call from the bank asking for the collection. YEAH!! But then I also enquired about my full name written on the card. And it’s still the wrong name!!! Oh gosh! So I asked her to correct my name and she agreed and hanged up the phone. Who knows on the 2^nd week, the bank staff called up again for collection and I double checked my name and they did not change for me!!!! I was so angry!

This time I became impatiently to ask for the change and the response I received from the bank was I needed to go to the bank for the second time and showed them my IC in order to change my name. I was really unwillingly to go and claimed that I left my IC copy with them. But still she instructed me that I had to go there. I thought the second time I go would be collecting my ATM card. My sister told me that I should not go because it was their fault, not the customer. ARGHHH….!!! What to do!! It really caused me trouble. I am thinking if I deposit $100,000 in the bank, would they just correct for me straight away without showing my IC to them again? I deposited that amount cancelled off 3 “0” at the back. Ok I am like small potato to them but that’s also my money. I am starting from the very beginning.

Before meeting the staff, I was thinking how I am gonna react to them. I never scold people in public but just accept whatever the situation is. If I just keep quiet, I feel sorry to myself that why didn’t I query for their mistake. Why I have to keep the emotions inside the heart?

My face did not look good and I queried the staff why I should come there again and I couldn’t withdraw money for 2 weeks. I did not get any apologize from her or maybe she thought it was not her fault in the beginning. She asked me to wait for a while and she went around doing my ATM stuff. After that, I went home waiting for their call the following week.

Last Saturday, finally I got my ATM card!!! Look like a credit card with long numbers on the front but it’s just an ATM card that has discounts in their selected merchants. I like the card because it has the text of Smart Executive Plan. Wahh I feel like I am a smart person holding the card. Great thought I have! It is more than a saving account with the help of achieving the customer’s financial need and goal. I am gonna find out how they can help me in my financial and I really need it so much as well.

Overall, it was my first and “not bad” experience in dealing with the bank. Life has always good and bad moments for us to enjoy. If it’s a good and wonderful moment, people are lovable to accept it but what if it’s your bad moment? That’s when we face challenge in life. Just like my case, I always think that God and Buddha are giving me a lesson to learn and experience. Everything happens for reason. So I just let it be and feel the feeling of being troublesome and anger with the service. Anyway, it’s just a human error as everyone will make a mistake so do I. So be a forgiveness person.

I ever think of changing to another bank since it gave me a bad impression in the beginning. But then they have charged me 1 year annual fee from the day I start using the account and would it be a loss to make that decision? I turned down that thought and think of it differently. Face the situation if you think it’s bad. Take the challenge to make it good. I haven’t try out their credit card services which I believe I can gain more benefit. You might not understand what I am thinking and talking about but as long as I understand, it feels good to see that I manage writing a long post or article.
