Every year of February is a fabulous month that I can't wait to celebrate because my birthday falls on that month, the day I was born, the day I came to the world, the day that the world welcomed me with open arms.
It doesn't matter how old you are, you just keep celebrating for it. I believe most of you will say to yourself, "Haiyo! One year older again this year! Why can't our age either maintain or reduce year by year, why should it be added one by one? Don't want to celebrate already because I am getting old every year."
Hey Hey! Wake up! Wake up! That's not all the truth. It's just part of it. We celebrate our birthday not because we are getting old but to comtemplate our blessings. Try to think of your family and friends and people who is around you no matter who. They are always on your side whenever you are experiencing great or bad in times. Person who love you and care for you.
They are the person who come to your side and give you a great lesson to become a better you or the best Jamy. This is what I call our GROWING moments. You must be wondering how bout those who "hit and run"? The person who come to your life and hurt you for some reason and leave and disappear from your entire life especially in a relationship matters. They are also one of the groups to let you learn and grow. No doubts at all. My favourate quote, "Everything happens for a reason."

Oh I really thought I have to share some picture and a post to enter this contest! So sorry...was in a hurry when I came here before..
Well... God has granted me many happy moment in my life... I pick one of the precious one, when the happy, sad and gratitude came all in one...
It was in February 2005, when my dad had a lung cancer and had a treatment in singapore. We planned to send him to Guang Zhow for another treatment. I was so afraid that I wouldn't see my dad again but all our money was concentrate for his medicine so I couldn't visit him and say goodbye. I was crying in my car, told God my feelings... then my bestfriend called me, and I told her about it.
You know what she did... my best friend provided us 3 tickets to singapore so I could visit my dad together with my hubby and my son (my dad one and only grandson). My best friend said that I shouldn't regret that I only spend a short moment with him just before he went to guang zhow, cherished every moment.. every minutes were precious...
That was my precious happy moment I thank God for. It was a happy surprise we gave to my dad in his hardest time of life. (oh I am crying right now). You can imagine his face, his smile when he found out that we were there!!
Life is short Jamy, cherish every moment, happy or sad, just be thankful to Him...
an advance birthday greetings to you from me..
Trinity
If you wish to post in ur blog, you may do so. Its ok.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your sharing.
I almost cried out but I try to hold my tears ...Its so touching to me. I will write this in a new post to share with my friends.
Yeah its very true to all of us of what you said. Cherish every moments....
Glad that you like my happy moment.. :-)
My happiest moments are on every weekends when I'm working as a part-time teacher in a learning center. Being an individual who loves kids, I would say, this is the best job I've ever gotten.
This is because I feel sense of achievements when they have learnt something from me. It also feels good when I know I was once part of a little kid's life... and hopefully when they grow up, they don't remember me as the mean teacher who didn't let them go for pee breaks more than two times , the teacher who did not let them sharpen their never blunt pencils, who shouts at them for being disobedient. But a teacher who have once guide them through their learning and growing process.
I believe many teachers would have experience the same thing as I did. =>
Jamy, thank you for inviting me to participate in your contest. This is a great idea that you have. My happiest moments will include the following:
- When Bunny agreed to be my wife
- When we got our first child - Fezz
- Becoming a father for the first time
- Then becoming a father for five times..hahahaa
- most happiest moment - having a family that truly love one another.
Trinity
Thank You, my friend
Baby Jee
Thank you so much of your treasure sharing. Yeah other teacher will have same experience with you. You had the experience to connect with the kids before you have your own kids. So next time you know how to teach them when you are their mummy and teacher!! HEHE
senor pablo
Wah that's many happy moments.
It's all related to your family. Thank you!
Would you mind to take one happy moment to talk about it in detail? I wish I can hear any touching and gratitude incident....
Hi JaMiLLa! I found you through Bobby's site. I think your handmade cards are a wonderful prize for a contest. So I'm happy to share my happy moments with you...
Mine are the small and quiet ones that sneak up on you, the ones you don't expect. They happen during a tiny break on a busy, crowded day. They are the shared smiles that make eye contact and spread into your heart, the understanding look of someone who knows what you're going through and who may be going through it themselves, the warmth of unconditional love in return for caring for my pets, the experience of a different perspective - when something ordinary now looks beautiful. And the few minutes of each day that I can reflect on the good things I have - those are all happy times.
Jamy! I would like to publish my entry on my blog too, is that alright with you? Anyway, here's my entry:
Happiness has long been elusive for me. I have many happy moments to remember but one recent event in particular really stands out for me. It's about letting go. What I mean is that by letting go of my expectations of others, I have learned about a fantastic new ability. I tend to get perturbed when people don't understand or accept my point of view. I think many people experience this.
I thought I understood that it was up to me to be at peace with myself, but I really didn't understand that. As many of you know, I suffer from depression. I tried anti-depressants and they didn't help. I now talk to a psychiatrist, some of which is in a group therapy setting. This has helped me more than anything I have ever tried.
Talking to these people has been both powerful and profound. There are people from every walk of life - from doctors to store clerks - all there for one common goal. Just a few weeks ago, I would get irate when thinking about president George Bush. Sometimes it would literally make me angry. When I'd talk to people who disagreed with me, it would burn me up if they didn't see it my way. Thus, I learned that I had to let go of those negative thoughts.
I don't mean just ignoring my anger. I mean that I truly released myself from the grips of the root; the place where these thoughts were born. In one group therapy session, I argued with another person about these things. I told them, "If the world thought like me, there would be no war and people would never suffer from greed and many other things."
My therapist laughed at me and said, "That is the absolute silliest thing I have ever heard. You aren't even happy. You may have wonderful ideas, but the reality is, you cannot make others think the way you do!"
We talked for several more minutes and it hit me. We all cracked up laughing and I really learned something. It's one thing to understand a concept and another to actually employ it. Now, when I start discussing something and that knot starts building in my stomach, I just let go and smile.
It's happened hundreds of times in the past week. I was able to catch myself! I have never been able to do that before - not to that degree of efficiency. I am not really learning anything new, but a new way to cope. That is the keyword: coping.
In order to experience happiness, we must be able to cope with all that life throws at us. I never once considered that I had poor coping skills in so many areas. It's amazing to realize the truth. I am on the path to inner peace and no amount of money could compare to that feeling of liberation. I still have much more to learn but I feel certain about my progress.
As I wrote this very post, my blog went off line. I smiled and patiently waited for it to come back up. I realized I lost half of what I had written and I laughed - made a calibrated decision and finished up in my desktop editor to prevent the same occurrence. Because I remained calm, I was able to remember exactly what I wrote and simply retyped it. Now that is unbelievable. That my friends, is happiness.
I hope this post helps somebody out there. I must admit, writing this has been a wonderful experience. Thanks Jamy!
hi jamy! i was deciding which moments to share with you and i think this one is one of my best happiest moment:
It was the period I was working part-time at Kimberly-Clark. Working was never stressful or burdening to me then. Maybe it was because i was only working as a part-timer. & I had a group of fun colleagues. All of us love to eat. Lunch time was the best. We visited almost every restaurant nearby. Oh, i love lunch time! :D
I am smiling widely as i write this post. Hope i had passed my happiness to u too! :)
hey jamy, thanks for inviting me to this contest, of course i would like to participate!
One happy moment... I'm having my happy moment now? why do i say so? coz i'm at hometown - kuching, sarawak, with my families now! I just quited my job last month from kl and flew all the way from kl back to kch, until now, i still jobless and i still with my families. Though sometimes it's really quite bored as i have nothing to do here, and so what, i'm with both my parents now and i'm happy to be with them! The last time i came back kch was a year before, it's been 1 year i didn't see my parents. I'm cherish every moment i'm spending with them now and this is my happy moment for being with them and seeing them happy too.. =)
My happy moment = with families!
teeni
I love when you are saying when something ordinary now looks beautiful
It's something wonderful about it when you are making yourself so cheerful for the day, everything you see might be ordinary during other day but you will see that as beautiful when you are looking at yourself beautiful. Everything is a mirror of you!
Thanks for your sharing and participation. I enjoy it alot!
Bobby
I am holding my tears when I read the last part of your sharing about I must admit, writing this has been a wonderful experience. Thanks Jamy!
I guess I found the true meaning of having this contest. When people writes the happy moment, they are thinking back of them at that moment. WHY THEY WRITE THAT? Because they are happy of that.
HAPPY is the keyword! What you are thinking and feeling right now will reflect to your future. Feel happy now, you will get more in future!
Bobby, you mentioned alot of great words while writing ur sharing: Learn, Letting Go, Realise(Aware).
Your sharing gives me alot of thoughts that related to my inner self. I will share it in a new post. Now would like to share this with you. I know you will understand this..
Awareness ---> Possibilites ---> Choice ---> Action ---> Pattern ---> Habit ---> Destiny
Alot of thanks for participating this, Bobby!
Jean Chia
